Transferring from a college to a university in Canada is getting easier. Students who have obtained certificates or diplomas at the college level can apply to have treated as recognized credits through prior learning assessment tests.

Prior learning acceptance is evaluated on a one-to-one basis by university advisers. Once accepted, a student will need to take fewer university courses to complete a program of study. Online universities have been quick to respond to the needs of students wishing to continue to a university.
